Architechtural Technologist

This role requires a good technical understanding of construction, most notably the UK residential sector. Experience of seeing projects through from planning to completion would be advantageous, but the majority of focus in the role is on the technical design portion of a project, RIBA stages 3 & 4. A good working knowledge of UK Building regulations and planning procedures is required, along with the ability to interact with a number of consultants, clients and authorities on a regular basis. You must be self-motivated and happy to manage your own work load, along with the work load of others and be comfortable working as part of a team and in isolation.

Day to day activities include:

-      Preparing detailed design proposals for tender, building regulations approval and construction in Revit and Autocad.

-      Preparing information to clear planning conditions.

-      Liaising with Building Control to gain the necessary approvals.

-      Liaising with and coordinating information from other design consultants and specialists.

-      Interacting with clients and management of their needs and expectations.

-      Checking of subcontractors design proposals.

-      Checking of junior members of staffs’ work.

Strong Revit and Autocad skills are necessary for this position, along with the ability to use Microsoft suite of programs. The role would suit someone looking to take on more responsibility and play a pivotal role in projects with the help and knowledge of other senior members of staff. Ideally a candidate coming from an Architectural Technology or more senior Architecture background rather than a Part 1 or Part 2 qualification/position.
